Understanding Seborrheic Keratosis

Seborrheic keratosis is a common, noncancerous skin condition that affects millions of people worldwide. These growths can appear worrying but are generally harmless. What is Seborrheic Keratosis? Seborrheic keratosis is a benign skin growth that typically appears in older adults. The growths can vary in color from light tan to black and are generally round or oval. Their texture can be waxy or dry and scaly and they are slightly elevated,often looking as though they have been “stuck on” to the skin.
