What will my Blemish look like immediately post treatment?
This is a really important question and one you need to know in order to make a decision on when is the right time to get a blemish treated especially if on your face. Blemishes will look different dependent on the blemish and size of blemish being treated.
Firstly, the technique I use to treat blemishes called diathermy, which involves using a small probe and a gentle current to cauterise the blemish. It’s quick, precise, and minimally invasive—but yes, there will be some immediate changes to the skin.
Right after your treatment, the area might look a little red and sometimes you can experience a small swelling around the treated area, similar to a small graze or a healing scratch. Some clients describe it as looking like a tiny dot or scab, the colour can look lighter, sometimes silvery and theh over the first 3-5 days you will see see a light crusting form and that’s completely normal and part of the natural healing process. With larger blemishes this will be the size of the original blemish and for conditions such as Seborrheic Keratosis this will be an open sore, almost like we have removed a scab from the body to soon.
For thread veins, the treated capillaries may look darker or slightly bruised for a few days before fading. The key thing to remember is that everyone’s skin is different, and healing times can vary slightly from person to person.
I will give you full aftercare advice to help your skin heal beautifully—this includes avoiding touching the area, keeping it clean, and steering clear of sun exposure or makeup on the treated spot until it’s settled.
Ultimately, while there may be a few days of visible healing, most clients say it’s worth it for the long-term confidence boost of clear, blemish-free skin.
I will discuss in full with you at consultation to ensure you are aware of exactly what to expext and healing.
