Blood Spot Removal in Colchester & Chelmsford . These harmless vascular blemishes which can greatly vary in size. Most commonly found on the trunk of the body, although they can appear elsewhere. Blood Spots are generally caused by genetics, trauma, or sun damage, and they can range from small to large.

Blood Spots can also be known as cherry angiomas or haemangiomas, and when you have a larger one, they tend to be raised and then referred to as Campbell de Morgan spots. These are a completely harmless vascular blemish. On fair skin, these blemishes can appear as quite a vivid, bright red colour.

As with all the blemishes I treat, these are removed for cosmetic purposes. Saying this, I meet many clients who have slightly larger Campbell de Morgans that they find are really affecting their confidence due to the placement or simply the appearance. They are easily targeted blemishes, and often the result is instant, although in some cases it may take a week or so for the blemish to completely disappear, and if slightly larger, it may need one further treatment 4-6 weeks down the line.

In more detail, blood spots are a vascular blemish consisting of concentrations of blood overlaid with a translucent skin layer and which can occur singularly or in multiples over the body. Essentially, they are red spots most often found in clients over the age of 40, but not exclusively. They often occur in a greater force as the ageing process continues.

Blood Spots are commonly present on the trunk of the body, but again, I have seen them on the face, chest, and breasts even.

Blood spots are not painful, but they could bleed if scratched or caught due to being very close to the surface.

An easily targeted blemish using diathermy or cryotherapy.
