I have been chomping at the bit to launch this latest service for Mole & Blemish Checks using the service Map My Mole. With skin cancers on the rise with a record high of 20,800 cases in 2024 and some of my nearest and dearest being diagnosed with varying levels, I am determined to get the word out there for people to really check their skin and if there are any concerns at all then to use this service. How Does It Work?
You will book in with me for a Blemish Diagnosis Service. On arrival I will ask you to complete some information for me regarding yourself and your blemish/s or mole/s. Once done I will assess the areas myself, take what I would deem as normal photos and videos in order to keep these on record and then using my Dermatascope (which allows me to take magnified photos using a high-quality magnifying lens (up to 10x magnification) and a light source to illuminate the skin, allowing a clearer view of subtle features) I will take further pictures and all of this information will be sent directly to a dermatologist who will assess the blemish and advise whether this should have an urgent referreal, action required or nothing to be concerned about.
This gentleman above has already had melanoma due to burning many times as a child and young adult. With the 5 moles we checked on this occasion, 2 were sent back within the hour for urgent referral. He is now on the 2 week waitlist for treatment with the NHS.
