Mole Removal Colchester & Chelmsford

Let’s talk about Mole Removal or, as I refer to it, more Mole Reduction. The reason is that this method is not cutting the mole out or shaving it off,  it’s using diathermy to reduce and dessicate (dry out the mole) with a small electrical current which runs through to the tip of a small sterile needle.

This method is the best I believe, it’s non-invasive, hugely reduces the risk of scarring and gets great results with little downtime. Of course a level of aftercare must be followed and the first 72 hours there are restrictions but all this is relatively easy and albeit a little sore at first, the area very quickly reduces in redness which happens immediately after treatment.

I believe Mole Removal is only necessary if the mole is bothering my client, affecting their confidence or causing discomfort due to the location.

Moles develop on the body when pigment cells which are called melanocytes grow together in a cluster and generally tend to be brown or darker in colour although can also be flesh coloured, pinkish or red. They can hugely vary in size and can appear anywhere on the body. The majority of the time a mole is harmless

Prior to any mole treatment with me, I require confimation from my client that they have been to see the doctor and the doctor has confirmed that the mole is benign and they are happy for my client to have diathermy treatment. Whilst the majority of moles are benign some moles can develop into melanoma which is a form of skin cancer so therefore it is key firstly to get the mole checked but also to always keep an eye on your moles and monitor any changes in your moles, whether that be the size, colour, shape or the way it feels or the fact it might now itch.
