Seborrheic keratosis on the face removal is more common than many people realise. Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting a gentleman who presented with a seborrheic keratosis on his right eyelid and right temple.
After the initial consultation, we discussed the treatment plan. He was understandably a bit apprehensive, and due to certain medical conditions, we needed to obtain consent from his doctors before proceeding. Once he returned with the necessary consent, we were ready to move forward with the treatment.
The procedure for removing both lesions took approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Throughout the process, I ensured that the client was comfortable and confirmed that he was okay for me to continue at each step. While seborrheic keratosis often appears on the face, the eyelid is a particularly sensitive area to treat, so I always proceed with caution, allowing the client to stop the procedure if needed throughout.
In this case, both Seb K’s were relatively soft, which allowed me to use the tap-and-scrape method. I gently used my probe to further soften the Keratosis before carefully scraping them away. This is a very gentle and non-invasive treatment method.
The image above shows how the blemishes looked immediately after treatment. These areas will now go through the healing process, during which a small scab may form. Over the coming weeks, the scab will slough away, revealing new skin free of the seborrheic keratosis. I will review this gentleman in six weeks to take photos and assess the healing progress. If a follow-up treatment is needed at that time, I will carry it out; however, given the immediate result, I doubt it will be necessary.
