Why I Welcome Questions About Hygiene in My Clinic
I genuinely appreciate when clients ask about the hygiene standards and sterilisation processes I follow during diathermy treatments. In fact, I see it as a positive sign that people are becoming more aware of the importance of clinical hygiene and infection control. When you visit any clinic, you’re placing your trust in the practitioner not only for results but also for your safety and wellbeing. That trust should always be earned through transparency and the highest professional standards.
In my clinic, hygiene isn’t just a box to tick, it’s the foundation of everything I do. Every treatment begins long before you walk through the door, with rigorous cleaning, sterilisation, and preparation protocols that ensure a completely safe environment. Instruments are sterilised in an autoclave, which uses high-pressure steam to destroy bacteria, viruses, and spores. This method is the recognised medical standard for achieving complete sterilisation, and it’s something I never compromise on. In addition and it goes without saying that I use one use probes for every client and an individual sterile pack per client.
Surfaces are disinfected between every client, single-use items are disposed of appropriately, and strict hand hygiene is maintained at all times. These may seem like small details, but together they create the level of safety and professionalism you should expect from any clinical setting. I believe you should always feel confident in asking your practitioner how equipment is cleaned, how often tools are sterilised, and what infection control measures are in place. These are valid, important questions, and any professional should be happy to answer them openly.
My goal is for every client to feel secure, informed, and completely comfortable during their treatment. When you know the environment is safe, you can relax and focus on your results. Hygiene is more than a protocol, it’s a commitment to your health and peace of mind.
