Why I’m Bringing Skin Rejuvenation to My Clinic

I have spent a long time doing one thing. My clinics in Colchester and Chelmsford have been entirely focused on advanced blemish removal, skin tags, warts, seborrheic keratoses, milia, thread veins, and everything in between. That focus was deliberate, and I stand behind it completely. Doing one thing well is infinitely better than doing ten things adequately.

However, I’m asked a question consistently. During consult or treatment, whether that be a skin tag removed, a seborrheic keratosis cleared, or thread veins treated, I’m asked, “So what do you actually do for your skin? What would you recommend?” I am always happy to share the products I like and believe you need for your skin, plus the treatments I’ve had myself.

What changed

The demand has always been there, but what shifted recently was that I started to see it more specifically. Clients coming in for facial blemish work would ask about skin texture, about fine lines, about the overall quality of their skin. Clients who had never had a blemish removal treatment on their face would ask what I thought they could do to improve their skin. And more than once, someone has asked me if I offer anything else.

I also practise what I preach. I have been in this industry for over 25 years, and I take my own skin seriously. I have personal experience with microneedling, and the results I have seen in myself and in the research are genuinely impressive when it is done properly. Improved skin texture, reduced pore size, better collagen response, improved tone. For anyone concerned about the overall quality and appearance of their skin, it is one of the most effective treatments available without going into more invasive territory. Before I sold my large clinic in Colchester, Essex, back in 2022, I offered a wide range of skin treatments, including microneedling.

So the decision came down to this: The demand from my existing clients is real and consistent. And it fits naturally alongside the work I already do, particularly for clients who have had blemish work on the face and want to address skin quality as part of their overall outcome.

Why it makes sense alongside blemish removal

Blemish removal and skin rejuvenation might sound like two different worlds, but for many of my clients, they are part of the same conversation. Someone who has had a cluster of seborrheic keratoses removed from the face, or skin tags cleared from the neck, is often thinking about the bigger picture of how their skin looks and feels. Microneedling fits that conversation naturally.

It also fits the post-treatment period. Once the skin has fully healed after diathermy, microneedling can be a brilliant next step for improving overall texture and supporting the skin’s recovery. I am always thinking about outcomes, not just removing what someone doesn’t want, but leaving them with skin they feel genuinely good about.

What microneedling involves

Microneedling works by creating very fine, controlled micro-injuries in the skin using a device with tiny needles. This triggers the skin’s natural healing response and stimulates collagen and elastin production. Over a course of treatments, the result is visibly improved skin texture, reduced fine lines, minimised pores, and a more even, healthy complexion.

It suits most skin types and skin tones, and the improvements build over time rather than appearing overnight. Most people notice a difference after a first treatment, but the real results come from completing a recommended course.

As with everything I do, I give every new client a thorough consultation before any treatment. Microneedling isn’t suitable for everyone, and I would rather take the time to confirm it’s genuinely right for you than recommend it just because you asked.

What I use and recommend

The treatment I am introducing is WOW Fusion, which combines microneedling with mesotherapy to deliver active ingredients directly into the skin. Fine micro-channels are created in the skin while a bespoke cocktail of vitamins, minerals and hyaluronic acid is infused simultaneously. The result is a treatment that works on multiple levels at once, stimulating the skin’s natural collagen and elastin response while nourishing it from within.

Over a course of treatments, results include visibly improved skin texture, reduced fine lines, minimised pores, and a more even, healthy complexion. It suits most skin types and skin tones, and the improvements build over time. Most people notice a difference after a first session, but the real results come from completing a recommended course.
